The Role

Vice President, Creative Director

Ralph Lauren · 1992–2016

The Work

Over 24 years at Ralph Lauren, I helped translate one of the world's most distinctive lifestyle brands into immersive retail experiences, ultimately leading creative direction for a $1.3 billion business segment.

Overseeing brand expression across retail environments, visual merchandising, seasonal storytelling and experiential initiatives, while building the creative teams, standards and systems that brought the Ralph Lauren world to life at scale.

The Challenge

Ralph Lauren built more than a fashion brand. He created an enduring vision of American life, one people could see themselves in, transforming clothing into a narrative of aspiration, identity and belonging.

Built on a pioneering vision of lifestyle selling, the brand transforms each collection into a fully realized story, creating romance around the product through character, place, atmosphere and emotion. Like a film, every collection has its own setting, mood and point of view, while remaining unmistakably Ralph Lauren.

The creative challenge is preserving that emotional consistency across labels, categories, retail formats and international markets, while giving each collection the freedom to tell a story of its own.

The Approach

Led global brand presentation and creative strategy across a $1.3 billion business segment, supporting a global retail network of 160+ locations with a $7.5 million creative budget.

Creative Direction

Set visual direction and brand standards across retail and customer experiences.

Brand Systems

Built scalable frameworks for consistent brand expression across markets and formats.

Team Leadership

Built and developed multidisciplinary creative teams that translated brand strategy into consistent execution.

Brand in Action

Brand stewardship extended beyond campaigns and retail environments into the systems and details that shaped how Ralph Lauren was experienced every day. From associate wardrobing and in-store music to digital engagement and retail directives, the work connected brand vision to consistent execution across the store fleet.

Impact

The experience defined an approach to creative leadership I continue to apply today: establish a distinctive point of view, build systems that can scale it, and develop teams capable of carrying it consistently across every consumer touchpoint.
